Typically, you can only get to the west bank of this area There is a mushroom growing on the east side of the river, but you can not reach it from the west side. You will need the mushroom to complete the game and it is only accessible from B1— which is only possible at the end of the game when getting the Magic shield.

Do take caution around the river—if you fall in, that is the end of the game for you.
