The only good use for the carrot is getting the goat to help you take care of the Troll guarding the Gnome island. You can eat it, but you loss two points for doing so. Simply picking one back up will restore your two lost points. You also loss two points for giving it to the Woodcutter—again, getting a new one will return your points.
