When starting King's Quest I, you will begin outside of the castle gates. There are a lot of ways to play though the game and no one is to say one is more fun than an other. On these pages we will explore the various options you have in the many areas of the game. We will, to the best of our ability, explore all the options in each of the locations though out the game so you can experience everything King's Quest has to offer.

If you're just getting started, it's probably more fun to just play though the game first without reading these pages. If you get stuck, try looking at the sections pertaining to the specific item you are trying to get.

When you have played though the game a few times and want to know what you might have missed, then these pages will help you find everything the game has to offer—from getting the top score to each of the different scenarios for dealing with situations.

For the perfect play though, it's probably best to start by gathering all the items you can before seeking out the lost treasures. Then, after you have the items, you can gather the treasures without having to worry that you don't have something you need :) So, the first section of this walkthrough will talk about each of the items, where they are, what they do and how to get them (if there is a trick).
